We have run courses for beginners in genealogy which usually last over eight weeks or so and are comprised of weekly two hour lessons. They are run as weekday night classes or as Saturday sessions which are run over two weekends and last all day.
We are happy to consider various options. The content of these courses deals with basics such as GRO searches, Introduction to Record Offices and other archives deposits, Parish Register searches in England and Wales, Scottish and Irish searches and Census Returns. Searching on the web, using the IGI, keeping records and using the National Archive website.
Other sessions take a look at military records at the National Archive and regimental museums. Trade Directories and local newspapers. A look at the various software programmes that are available for family historians is usually included.
Finally, we help students with any problems or difficulties in their personal research
